AS SEEN ON HGTV's DESIGN STAR...
"Design Star" -- Hosted by Clive Pearse, 10 designers navigated a gauntlet of
design challenges for the chance to win the ultimate prize, their own show on
HGTV. For the Final Challenge, "Episode #7: Glass Houses", the two finalists
were required to design a room inside a 12' x 16' free-standing Four Seasons

LIGHTS ... CAMERA ... ACTION!
FOUR SEASONS 'DESIGN STAR' on HGTV
NEW YORK, NY -- It was a dark and stormy night in New York City when a
professional crew of Four Seasons personnel dressed in yellow and black
descended upon Bryant Park, right in the heart of Manhattan, and began
unloading two truckloads of CONSERVADECK panels, aluminum extrusions, glass ...
glass ... and more glass.
It's the Final Challenge of HGTV's phenomenally popular reality series, "Design
Star" and Four Seasons Sunrooms takes center stage.
"Design Star" is HGTV's most popular program in the channel's history. The most
recent show shattered ratings records. It was the:
-
Highest-ever HGTV show with a Household rating of 2.21 (6 million)
-
Highest-ever HGTV prime time program rating among ages 25-54 & 18+
-
Highest-ever HGTV prime time rating & average impressions among women
18-49, 25-54 & 25-54
While the show is not a Four Seasons Sunrooms' commercial, it is expected to
help expand consumer awareness of sunrooms as an alternative to conventional
construction and increase the brand awareness of Four Seasons Sunrooms.
Leading up to the "Design Star" Final Challenge, 10 aspiring designers sought
to impress home viewers and an expert judging panel with their design
expertise, ingenuity, creativity and "it" factor during the reality
competition. Hosted by Clive Pearse, the eight-week event airs weekly through
Sept. 10.
To get to the Final Challenge, HGTV Design Star finalists navigated a gauntlet
of design challenges for the chance to win the ultimate prize — their own show
on HGTV — as their efforts were critiqued by renowned designer Cynthia Rowley;
television designer, Vern Yip; and In Style executive editor Martha McCully. On
each show a participating candidate was eliminated until only two remained for
the final, over-the-top challenge.
That's where Four Seasons came in. While this was the Final Challenge for the
Design Star contestants, Four Seasons had its own challenges, including just 24
hours to build not one, but two, 12' by 16' Series 230 Sun & Stars
Cathedral Rooms in the middle of Manhattan, in Bryant Park. And they had to
start at midnight and finish the job in the pouring rain.
Despite the short time to build, and the fact that these were temporary
installations, they were put to the ultimate test. During the four days they
remained standing for the show, it rarely stopped raining, including hours of
steady heavy downpours, yet neither of the rooms had one leak during the entire
filming -- a true testament to the quality of the Four Seasons product and
installation team.
